You'll love the updated Audi MMI® technology interface on the all-new 2019 Audi Q8

Back in September we blogged about the upcoming arrival of the all-new 2019 Audi Q8, and in that post we touched on the performance and exterior aesthetics. Hop forward to November, and the stunning crossover as finally made its way to our dealership and more are arriving each day!

Since we previously focused so much on the exterior and under-the-hood specs, let's take a look inside this all-new crossover!

Sleek and Calm

The Audi Q8 has a very athletic exterior, so you might expect the inside to follow suit. Instead, you'll be pleasantly surprised to find a quiet and refined cabin. All that's thanks to the updating and reconfiguring of the Audi MMI® infotainment system!

You'll quickly notice that the Audi Q8 has no knobs, buttons, or dials to turn or push. To control the vehicle's volume, temperature, etc., you'll use two different touchscreens that are large and easy to reach. These touchscreens also have haptic technology. What's that? Haptic technology is the light vibration response you feel when you click on a smartphone button and it feels like you've actually pressed down. This makes using a touchscreen a much more realistic and tactile experience.

Audi designers also updated the handwriting touchpad. You can write side by side or one letter at a time. The interface is much smoother than in past years. This updated tech layout can also be found on the redesigned 2019 Audi A8 sedan.

Other convenience tech highlights we think you'll love include:

  • Audi's virtual cockpit (a 12.3-inch information cluster and helpful navigator)
  • The available Audi phone box that wirelessly charges your device and increases the cell reception
  • Available heads-up display with vital directional information and traffic sign recognition
