Finally Here, the 2018 Audi RS3 is Prepared For Blast Off

One of the cars we’ve pined for is finally on our shores, and it’s not the A5 Sportback we just wrote about. It’s the 2018 Audi RS3. A part of the expanding A3 family, you could call it a “more powerful S3,” but that wouldn’t be doing it justice. In fact, taking into account the mechanical changes, and engine output, it’s in a different world entirely.

The centerpiece of the RS3 is a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-five with 400 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. The engine note to the linear acceleration gives this slice of RennSport goodness a 4.1-second sprint time to sixty—at times faster, thanks to its launch control system. At the wheels is Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive system, which is rearward biased for confident launches. Although the “save the manuals” crew may be disappointed by the lack of a standard transmission, the seamless seven-speed dual-clutch’s crisp shifts will sate all but the most die-hard self-rowers.

Some RS3 models have made it to the states for the 2017 model year, but more will be coming for 2018. If you’d like to explore ordering one, contact us at our Audi dealership in Tulsa, OK. If 400-hp is too much, ask about the 292-hp S3.
